Suitable Applications
Our standard, most cost effective solution for use where BS ISO 16069 does not apply. Our Class B+ rated material takes up to 20 hours to fade to the limit of dark-adapted human eyesight (0.32mcd/m2).
The minimum requirement for compliance with BS ISO 16069, such as for Safe Way Guidance Systems (SWGS). Our Class C+ option shines twice as bright and for twice as long as Class B+ alternatives. We recommend at least Class C+ glow in the dark rating for critical safety signage such as emergency exit marking and fire equipment identification.
Our brightest, longest lasting glow! Many customers choose Class D+ for extra comfort that their safety signs will be visible when they are needed the most. These are particularly useful in settings where safety cannot be compromised and ambient lighting is less reliable, or if visibility can be severely compromised. Examples include large, complex facilities, undercover car parks or internal stairways.
*Photoluminescent materials are rated based on their luminance in millicandelas per square meter (mcd/m²). Higher values indicate a brighter glow.
**this is measured as the time taken to fade to the limit of dark-adapted human eyesight (0.32mcd/m2).
